In-home Postpartum Follow-up
($75/first hour, $50 each additional hour-2 hour minimum)
Feeling a little unsure or overwhelmed? Let us help! We offer next day appointments once you are home from the hospital to help you transition. Appointments are available in 2- 4 hour increments. We will come to your home and provide breastfeeding support, assistance with the first bath, diapering, swaddling, etc. We help wherever you feel it is needed!
Childbirth Classes
Childbirth education classes are offered in a variety of settings to accommodate everyone. Classes are held in Leesburg and Purcellville as well as in the home. We strive to make each class fun and interactive while providing a comfortable learning environment for couples. Our goal is to give each parent a solid foundation of the entire birth process so that they can make informed decisions based upon what is best for them. We keep our classes small so that parents can feel comfortable asking anything! Below you will find a list of our current classes. Each class includes a notebook with informative handouts and a childbirth booklet.
4 Week Session

Looking for the ultimate Childbirth Education experience? We will meet one night a week for 4 weeks. This session will encompass all there is to know about the birthing process, whether you are planning a natural childbirth, epidural or c-section. We will review anatomy and physiology during pregnancy, discuss the stages of labor and signs and symptoms that take place. An introduction to several different relaxation techniques and comfort measures will be given and we will practice them during our sessions. We go through different pushing techniques and discuss the role of the labor support person. We will discuss the postpartum period and review the basics of breastfeeding and caring for your newborn. 1 Day Weekend Session

Running out of time? This session is specifically designed for couples who are quickly approaching their due date or those who are unable to attend our weekly course. Because we are limited to one day, this session is an intense study of the different methods of delivery, the stages of labor, relaxation and coping techniques, as well as the role of the labor support person. We will also introduce you to the basics of breastfeeding and newborn care. Because so much of this class focuses on the birthing process, we highly recommend these couples look into taking our Newborn Essentials course if time permits!
Private In-home Session

Want to learn in the comfort of your own home? Unable to leave due to bed rest restrictions? This is the class for you! We will review the same material covered in our 6 hour weekend course, but in the comfort of your own home. Because these are private sessions we are able to tailor the class to your specific concerns and questions. This class gives couples the opportunity to share and talk about topics they may have been hesitant to discuss in a group setting.
Refresher Course
3 Hours

Has it been a few years or you just can’t remember everything you learned the last time around? This is for couples that have already experienced childbirth but need a refresher! This class will cover all the essentials and up to date information on childbirth and your hospital stay.
Newborn Essentials
3 hour sessions

Getting through labor and delivery is one thing… now what do you do with this sweet little baby? Come let us teach you the importance of breastfeeding and how to be successful! We will also inform you of everything you need to know about bringing your baby home from the hospital and caring for her during those first few weeks. We will practice diaper changing, teach you how to master the swaddle and giving your baby her first bath! This class isn’t just for moms… we encourage dads to attend as well as we believe their role is just as important!
